TM7

Tis the season for giving. And Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers fully believe in the notion that you have to give away what you want to receive. In this case, quality music for quality fans.

We asked you to pick the seven songs you thought best represented the music of RCPM, and through your many voices, The Magnificent 7 was created.

The Magnificent 7 reads like a mini-set list, starting with the driving "¡Americano!" and ending with long time favorite "Mekong" from the Real to Reel CD. New listeners are introduced to that town south of the Arizona border where life moves a little slower in "Counterclockwise." Peacemaker classics "Beautiful Disaster" and "Green & Dumb" are joined with more recent hits "Maybe We Should Fall In Love" and "Contraband."

You can now get all of these songs for free! All you need to do is go http://www.peacetimegoods.com/ptgshop/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=45, add the entire album or as many songs as you want to the shopping cart, and proceed to checkout. And again, it's free.

We know most of our long time fans already own every CD from RCPM, and the band extends its sincerest thanks to you. We hope those fans will use The Magnificent 7 to introduce new fans to the joy of RCPM's music.

Have a friend or coworker who keeps asking you about all your concert road trips? Have a relative who has never heard of Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers? Know someone who really enjoyed The Refreshments but lost track of the band after they broke up? Tell them all to go to Peacetime Goods and download The Magnificent 7 so they too can experience the excitement, the energy, the crunching guitars and heartfelt lyrics of RCPM.

Gracias all.

Big Shows on the Horizon!

As if we needed more proof that RCPM had the best rock-n-roll fans on the planet, we now know that a lot of you traveled a heck of a lot of miles to see Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers live in concert in 2009.

We asked you to add up the round trip miles you traveled to see RCPM play this year, and the entries were outstanding! A huge ¡Muchas Gracias! to everyone who filled their gas tanks a few dozen times, stood in long TSA screening lines at the airports, and staggered into work the next morning after a show.

A special thanks to our winner, Jen Earley-Wakefield, who went to more than two dozen shows in 2009, racking up 27,616 miles!! That's enough to drive from Los Angeles to New York and back, 5 times!!

The band played more than 100 shows in 2009, and we're not done yet. Furthermore, we have another contest!

RCPM will be part of a true ROCK show on Dec. 18 as they once again join Alice Cooper at the Dodge Theatre for his annual Christmas Pudding event. This year's show also includes a few of Alice's rocking '80s friends such as Dee Snider from Twisted Sister, Warrant and Lita Ford.

Then you can ring in 2010 with Arizona's best New Year's Eve party: Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers live at the Celebrity Theatre.

http://celebritytheatre.ticketforce.com/eventperformances.asp?evt=1113&c=39&pg=

On January 9th, Roger will hit the slopes of Telluride for his annual solo show. You can win tickets to the show, 3 nights lodging and a 3-day lift ticket by entering this contest here:

http://www.funcoaz.com/Fun/AZ-Days2010.htm

RCPM then returns to the cantina by the bay that provided the inspiration for so many Peacemaker classics. It's the third annual January Jam at JJ's Cantina in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico. ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER of tickets will be sold and they're going fast, so get yours now!

And then in February, RCPM will take a trip across the pond for its first ever tour of the UK!

There were a lot of great RCPM events in 2009. And 2010 is shaping up to be even better!

We're looking forward to seeing everyone on the road again.

¡Salud!

Long on Miles II

Peacemakers,

It's time to count up those frequent flier miles and determine who traveled the most round trip miles to see Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers play in 2009.

It's our Long On Miles II contest. The winner will receive a pair of tickets to the January Jam at JJ's Cantina in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico on Jan. 30.

Here's what you have to do: add up the miles you traveled to see RCPM and post your total, along with the breakdown of cities, on the message board at www.azpeacemakers.com under the designated area in the "Tour Time" section, or FB.

Contest entries will be taken until Dec. 8.

Here are a few points to remember:

For consistency, we're calling the distance from the Arizona border to Rocky Point 60 miles. So a trip from the border to Puerto Peñasco would be 120 miles round trip.

To figure out the miles between cities, we suggest websites such as Mapquest.

If you follow the band for several cities, only count the miles from your last city. For example: If you live Spokane and travel to see the band play in both Seattle and Portland, you would count the miles from Spokane to Seattle, Seattle to Portland, and Portland back to Spokane.

If you decide to take a detour between cities, you still can only count the most direct miles between cities. Example: if you live in Los Angeles and travel to Phoenix to see a show, but on the way home decide to make a stop in Las Vegas, you cannot count the Vegas miles.

If you have any questions, post them on the message board or send a PM to MDLP or Tippy.

Good luck, and a huge ¡Muchas Gracias! to all our fans who made the long road trips, stood through long lines at the airports, and called in "sick" the next day at work to see RCPM in concert in 2009. We couldn't do this without you.

JJ's January Jam III

Peacemakers,

As you may be aware, Roger, PH, Jim and Nick are gearing up for their first ever tour of the UK coming in February. But before the band gets its hands on fish and chips along the Thames, they're heading back for some fish tacos in Cholla Bay, Mexico.

Coming January 30th, RCPM are inviting everyone to once again go down together to put your toes in the sand, a beer in your hand, let down your hair, watch the sun set into the Sea of Cortez and raise another round at JJ's Cantina!!

It's the third annual JJ's January Jam. This intimate get together is regarded by many fans as the best RCPM concert of the year. Only a limited amount of tickets will be sold.

Tickets go on sale Saturday. Advance tickets may be purchased for $25 at PeaceTime Goods. http://www.peacetimegoods.com/ptgshop/pc/home.asp. The January Jam has SOLD OUT the past two years. Any tickets still available the day of the show will be sold at the door for $20.

Just like last year, we are going to give away a pair of tickets to the show by reviving our Long On Miles
contest. It's simple: count up the round trip miles you traveled in 2009 to see RCPM. If you traveled more miles than anyone else, you win! More contest details will be released soon.

Join us for cervezas, taco stands, good friends, a full moon, high spirits and the best rock-n-roll on the planet next to Cholla Bay in Puerto Peñasco Mexico. Don't miss your chance to see Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers in this unique, intimate setting at the place that provided the inspiration for many of their most beloved songs. The show starts at sunset. The band will play til who knows when.

The Magnificent 7

Dear Happy and Important person,

We know you know the magic of a concert by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. There's nothing quite like having every person in the audience singing along to every word Roger sings. How many times have you asked your boss for time off to see RCPM or told your friends you were traveling several hundred miles to see a show? Now, we want your boss and your friends hooked on RCPM too! To do that, we want to introduce new listeners to the music of Roger Clyne. This is where we need YOUR help! The band has given us so many great songs over the years that it's hard for us to narrow down our list of favorites. But if YOU had to choose just 7 songs that best represent the band's musical prowess, what would they be? Which songs do you think showcase the band's splendid musical diversity and would make a good introduction to someone who has never heard of RCPM? Starting today, we want you to go to the link below, find the entry for "Magnificent 7" (Nov. 22) and cast your ballots. The voting will be open for 5 days. After the polls have closed, we will take the top 7 songs, aka the "Magnificent 7," and make them available for FREE download at Peacetime Goods. You may only vote on the songs we have listed. Licensing issues prevent us from giving away Refreshments songs for free. We want to give away what we want to receive: great rock-n-roll in exchange for great fans. Tell us which songs we should give away for free, and help RCPM find new listeners to welcome into the Peacemaker community.

RCPM and Dierks Bentley!

"The Peacemakers...pride themselves on staging a party whenever they're onstage, and they didn't disappoint in their appearance at the packed Marquee."

And that was just the first night!

This past weekend was truly one that will go down as one of the greatest Halloween weekend bashes in Tempe history. Togas, grapes, wine, tequila, sailors, Chief Clyne with a head dress, short-shorts, lassos, YMCA and straight-forward, unadulterated rock-n-roll til the wee hours of the morning each night...the energy at the Marquee Theatre was amazing! THANK YOU to everyone who came and made it such a memorable weekend.

If you missed it, here's a great recap from Friday night.
http://www.azcentral.com/thingstodo/music/articles/2009/10/31/20091031rogerclynereview.html

And if you missed Saturday, you missed one of the greatest stage entrances ever:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySTIN_ET-B0

Here's the best news: the boys aren't done rocking the home crowd yet! On Saturday, Nov. 21, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers will open for fellow Arizonian Dierks Bentley as part of his "Miles & Music For Kids" benefit series. Proceeds from the show will benefit Phoenix Children's, a Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster. VIP tickets are also available. http://tinyurl.com/yh27y9f

More info on the show can also be found here:http://tinyurl.com/yg9tkoh

But before then, RCPM will be back on the road, beginning this Wednesday in Albuquerque and taking the band this time through the Rocky Mountains, the Northwest and Southern California. Openers this slots this time around will be filled by the likes of The Railbenders and Angie Stevens.

It's been an incredible year so far for RCPM, and they're not done yet! The band is on fire right now. The energy at the shows is high, cups are being raised to celebrate life and say ¡Salud! Don't miss your chance to see RCPM live!

Let's Tell the UK About RCPM

Roger, PH, Jim, Nick and Jason are busy making preparations for their first ever journey across the Atlantic for a two-week tour of the UK. We know there are several of you planning on joining the band on their adventure and we're all looking forward to seeing many familiar faces in some unfamiliar settings.

But the band is also looking forward to sharing the Peacemaker experience with an entirely new set of fans, many of whom have never seen and might not be as familiar with RCPM as their Yankee counterparts. To get people in the UK ready for some kick ass Americana rock-n-roll, we'd like to expose more people over there to Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. To do that, we need the RCPM vets to give our new UK friends an idea of what they're about to see.

The band would be most grateful if everyone would take a few minutes and request RCPM on UK radio. Whether you live in London or Phoenix, we'd like everyone to log in to as many websites as you can and make a request. And if you have time, find a message board to talk about why you love RCPM so much, what UK fans can expect when they go to a show, or even why learning key words such as ¡Salúd! may be important.

Our friend Kat has compiled a list of stations and websites that you can check out and make requests. A big gracias to her for taking the time to compile this list.

Wanted in 50 states, Mexico and the UK!

Roger, PH, Jim and Nick are gearing up to rock the UK in February. For fans looking to join the band on their journey across the pond, we want to remind everyone there are several places to find all sorts of information regarding the tour. On the main website (www.azpeacemakers.com), click "upcoming shows" to find all the latest UK tour dates as well as links to the venues. Our message board has a thread dedicated to all things UK tour. Useful information about where to stay and how to get around will be posted there as we receive it. That same information can also be found on a new Facebook group we created, "RCPM UK tour 2010." In addition, we have some great fans who currently live in the UK and are willing to answer just about any question you might have to help you prepare for your trip. Those fans are on the Facebook page frequently.

Keep checking back to any of these pages for updates. The band is excited to bring a some AZ heat to the UK winter!

Ear Candy Auction

One of our favorite charities, Ear Candy, is giving fans the chance to see RCPM's soundcheck and show Friday, Oct. 30 at the Marquee. And on top of that, they're going to fill your trick-or-treat bag with a bunch of RCPM goodies.

Ear Candy is providing all of this to the winner of their ebay auction: http://tinyurl.com/yjdmfnr.

Please note, soundcheck will be about mid-afternoon on Friday. The winner will receive additional details. But if you work or go to school and would like to see soundcheck, you'll need to keep your schedule open in the afternoon.

Ear Candy is a Phoenix-based non-profit group dedicated to giving children access to music education. All proceeds from the auction will go to them. Ear Candy is also hosting a battle of the bands competition to give some lucky up-and-comers the chance to open for RCPM at the Marquee on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31.

Gracias Peacemakers!

What ships to Vegas, Stays in Vegas

Dear Happy and Important Person,

RCPM's third annual rock show at the House of Blues in Las Vegas on Labor Day Weekend was a blast! A box of limited edition beer glasses that shipped there had a rockin' good time as well. We figure they probably took to the tables early Friday night, then eased out onto the strip for some fleshy adventures before heading back in and hiding out somewhere in the wings of the House of Blues to catch the Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers show! With too much to drink and not enough to eat, embarrassment was understandable and they stayed hidden until the power of tequila could wear off. Alas, that left them missing in action for the concert goers to appreciate and possibly take back to a good home. That's OK, we all know that "what ships to Vegas, stays in Vegas!"

Check out the new Viva Las Vegas beer glasses that are back in Arizona now and ready to join you in a safe, comfy home environment outside of Sin City! They have the Fizzy Fuzzy Girl printed on them with the American Flag waving back; www.peacetimegoods.com/ptgshop/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=9.

Peacetime Goods has also brought the digital downloads home to roost and they are no longer in a different location on the main band website. We are able to bring you all of the recordings that RCPM's label, EmmaJava Recordings has released. Live at Billy Bob's and the two Refreshments titles are available on iTunes for download.

Roger's sombrero on Ebay

Peacemakers,

Many of you, especially those who live in the Phoenix area, are aware of Dog Davis, a fixture on the local music scene for many years.

Dog, who is not only a friend of the band's but their former bus driver, is battling cancer and needs assistance to pay for his growing medical bills.

In an effort to help a friend in need, Roger is putting his sombrero up for auction. You have seen him wear it at countless shows in the past. It has traveled with Roger across the U.S. several times over as well as accompanied him to four Circus Mexicus weekends. It has been passed around and shared many nights by the best rock-n-roll audience on the planet. The condition of the sombrero might be described as "well loved." But it's held together since 2006. And now Roger hopes he can use it one more time to help his friend, Dog Davis.

For more information and to bid on the sombrero, go to:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Roger-Clynes-Giant-Som...4#ht_500wt_1182

All of our thoughts and positive vibrations to Dog for a speedy recovery.

We Back The DBacks, VIP Ticket Contest

I back, you back, we back the D-backs!

Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers will be playing at Chase Field following the Arizona Diamondbacks' game with the Colorado Rockies on Sept. 19, and we want to put you on the field for the show!

RCPM and the Diamondbacks are teaming up for the "We Back the D-Backs" photo contest. We want to find the people who are the biggest fans of both the Peacemakers and the D-Backs.

Here's what you have to do: Submit a photo to either our new message board at www.azpeacemakers.com, twitpic a photo to @azpeacemakers or @dbacksinsider or post a photo on RCPM's Facebook page. That's four different areas you can submit a photo. Five winners from each group will get 4 VIP passes each to be field level for RCPM's set. The pass does not include admission to the baseball game. The concert is included free with your purchase of a ticket to the Diamondbacks' game.

You may submit photos to all four areas if you like, but you can only win once.

Deadline for entries is Thursday the 17th. Winners will be announced on the 18th. All passes can be picked up at the Chase Field Will Call window on Sept. 19.

This has become one of the most anticipated end of summer shows for our hometown fans. Don't miss the chance to catch an evening of baseball with an ice cold beer, red hots and the whole gang, followed by the chance to see a post-game show by RCPM from field level.

Big shows on the horizon!

Peacemakers!

It's been an unbelievable year so far for RCPM. The concerts have been incredible, and Roger, PH, Jim and Nick want to keep the rock rolling.

There are some great shows coming up that the boys are really excited about, and we want to see both old amigos and new compadres alike fill the venues.

Aug. 29 — All roads lead back to Tucson where RCPM will play the Rialto Theatre.

Sept. 5 — It's one of RCPM's biggest shows of the year in Las Vegas. We invite you to spend "An evening with Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers." at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay. There will be no opening act. Just 3 hours of some of the greatest rock-n-roll on the planet. Remember, there will not be a fall Circus Mexicus this year. So come join everyone for fun in the Nevada sun and the biggest party of the holiday weekend.

Sept. 12 — RCPM returns to The Grand Canyon State for a show in Flagstaff at the Orpheum Theatre. The Northern Arizona Food Bank will also be holding a food drive during the show. Bring three non-perishable food items and be entered to win a meet-and-greet session with the band following their set.

Sept. 17 — Roger and Co. are very excited to have been selected to not only play at the Americana Music Festival in Nashville, but will be co-headling one of the nights with Cross Canadian Ragweed. This is bound to be an unforgettable night of music.

Sept. 19 — RCPM backs the D-Backs and will once again play post-game at the Arizona Diamondbacks game at Chase Field. Watch Arizona take on the Colorado Rockies and then stick around after for the concert.

It's shaping up to be a fantastic end to the summer. So tell a friend, tell a relative or tell a co-worker that if they've ever wanted to experience the power, the adrenaline, the energy and the camaraderie of a concert by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, they should make plans to get to one of these shows!

Website Changes Coming

Peacemakers,

The beauty of rock-n-roll is that it's unpredictable. Sometimes, there are situations and factions that work their way into an artist's work, both on and off stage, that the artist has no control over.

But, also in true rock fashion, most artists deal with these situations by licking their wounds and moving forward.

Such is the case with our website. As many of you know, Echo was forced to close its doors, leaving RCPM and other artists without a web host. Keeping up the maintenance on our website hasn't been easy for the past month.

But RCPM is moving on, which is why we're very excited and pleased to announce that MusicCityNetworks have agreed to become our new web gurus. They're a fairly new company. In many ways, they're a ma and pa homegrown company providing a very good service to society. But as you can see from their website, http://musiccitynetworks.com/, MCN is already putting together websites for some big name artists, including Brad Paisley, Sara Evans and Lady Antebellum.

The new RCPM website will have basically the same design as the current site. The biggest question I'm sure many of you have is, "When will this happen?" An exact date has not yet been selected. But it likely will be in the very near future, which is why we wanted to start preparing everyone for this. When a date has been picked, we will let everyone know through all of our internet sites (message board, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.).

In the meantime, here's what the switch will mean to you:

All of the old threads and posts on the current message board WILL NOT be carried over. We apologize, but there's just no way to save those. So if you have a favorite post or thread that you want to continue on the new board, copy and save it in a file NOW!

Thank you all for your understanding and patience, and we look forward to learning all of this new material together.

We're very excited about what the future holds for RCPM, and we look forward to what we hope is a long and successful relationship with MusicCityNetworks.

Gracias!
RCPM

Flagstaff Food Drive

Peacemakers!

RCPM wants to give you the chance to meet the band in Flagstaff, while at the same time helping them put food on the plates of those less fortunate.

Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers are teaming up the Northern Arizona Food Bank during their concert on Sept. 12 at the Orpheum Theater. Bring three non-perishable food items to the show and be entered to win a meet-and-greet session with the band following their set. The winner will be announced at some point during the show.

The need for emergency food assistance is up by more than 110% from a year ago, according to the food bank.

“Let's all pitch in a little to fill our neighbors' cupboard,” Clyne said. “Surely, as we do so, our own hearts will overflow!”

Also as part of the food bank's efforts to raise money, a raffle to win a pair of tickets to the show will be held at the Flagstaff Gun Show on August 22nd & 23rd.

Gracias everyone!

Chapstick Koozie

Ever lose your chapstick? Roger does. If we don't clip it to his lanyard he is going to lose it! Whether on tour or sailing this is how he keeps his lip balm close at hand. With red koozie material, black lettering (to coordinate with our lanyard colors) and a swivel clip, this little gem is very handy. It can also be clipped to a key chain. The options are endless. Get yours today at www.peacetimegoods.com!
