Long on Miles II

Peacemakers,

It's time to count up those frequent flier miles and determine who traveled the most round trip miles to see Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers play in 2009.

It's our Long On Miles II contest. The winner will receive a pair of tickets to the January Jam at JJ's Cantina in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico on Jan. 30.

Here's what you have to do: add up the miles you traveled to see RCPM and post your total, along with the breakdown of cities, on the message board at www.azpeacemakers.com under the designated area in the "Tour Time" section, or FB.

Contest entries will be taken until Dec. 8.

Here are a few points to remember:

For consistency, we're calling the distance from the Arizona border to Rocky Point 60 miles. So a trip from the border to Puerto Peñasco would be 120 miles round trip.

To figure out the miles between cities, we suggest websites such as Mapquest.

If you follow the band for several cities, only count the miles from your last city. For example: If you live Spokane and travel to see the band play in both Seattle and Portland, you would count the miles from Spokane to Seattle, Seattle to Portland, and Portland back to Spokane.

If you decide to take a detour between cities, you still can only count the most direct miles between cities. Example: if you live in Los Angeles and travel to Phoenix to see a show, but on the way home decide to make a stop in Las Vegas, you cannot count the Vegas miles.

If you have any questions, post them on the message board or send a PM to MDLP or Tippy.

Good luck, and a huge ¡Muchas Gracias! to all our fans who made the long road trips, stood through long lines at the airports, and called in "sick" the next day at work to see RCPM in concert in 2009. We couldn't do this without you.

JJ's January Jam III

Peacemakers,

As you may be aware, Roger, PH, Jim and Nick are gearing up for their first ever tour of the UK coming in February. But before the band gets its hands on fish and chips along the Thames, they're heading back for some fish tacos in Cholla Bay, Mexico.

Coming January 30th, RCPM are inviting everyone to once again go down together to put your toes in the sand, a beer in your hand, let down your hair, watch the sun set into the Sea of Cortez and raise another round at JJ's Cantina!!

It's the third annual JJ's January Jam. This intimate get together is regarded by many fans as the best RCPM concert of the year. Only a limited amount of tickets will be sold.

Tickets go on sale Saturday. Advance tickets may be purchased for $25 at PeaceTime Goods. http://www.peacetimegoods.com/ptgshop/pc/home.asp. The January Jam has SOLD OUT the past two years. Any tickets still available the day of the show will be sold at the door for $20.

Just like last year, we are going to give away a pair of tickets to the show by reviving our Long On Miles
contest. It's simple: count up the round trip miles you traveled in 2009 to see RCPM. If you traveled more miles than anyone else, you win! More contest details will be released soon.

Join us for cervezas, taco stands, good friends, a full moon, high spirits and the best rock-n-roll on the planet next to Cholla Bay in Puerto Peñasco Mexico. Don't miss your chance to see Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers in this unique, intimate setting at the place that provided the inspiration for many of their most beloved songs. The show starts at sunset. The band will play til who knows when.

The Magnificent 7

Dear Happy and Important person,

We know you know the magic of a concert by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. There's nothing quite like having every person in the audience singing along to every word Roger sings. How many times have you asked your boss for time off to see RCPM or told your friends you were traveling several hundred miles to see a show? Now, we want your boss and your friends hooked on RCPM too! To do that, we want to introduce new listeners to the music of Roger Clyne. This is where we need YOUR help! The band has given us so many great songs over the years that it's hard for us to narrow down our list of favorites. But if YOU had to choose just 7 songs that best represent the band's musical prowess, what would they be? Which songs do you think showcase the band's splendid musical diversity and would make a good introduction to someone who has never heard of RCPM? Starting today, we want you to go to the link below, find the entry for "Magnificent 7" (Nov. 22) and cast your ballots. The voting will be open for 5 days. After the polls have closed, we will take the top 7 songs, aka the "Magnificent 7," and make them available for FREE download at Peacetime Goods. You may only vote on the songs we have listed. Licensing issues prevent us from giving away Refreshments songs for free. We want to give away what we want to receive: great rock-n-roll in exchange for great fans. Tell us which songs we should give away for free, and help RCPM find new listeners to welcome into the Peacemaker community.

RCPM and Dierks Bentley!

"The Peacemakers...pride themselves on staging a party whenever they're onstage, and they didn't disappoint in their appearance at the packed Marquee."

And that was just the first night!

This past weekend was truly one that will go down as one of the greatest Halloween weekend bashes in Tempe history. Togas, grapes, wine, tequila, sailors, Chief Clyne with a head dress, short-shorts, lassos, YMCA and straight-forward, unadulterated rock-n-roll til the wee hours of the morning each night...the energy at the Marquee Theatre was amazing! THANK YOU to everyone who came and made it such a memorable weekend.

If you missed it, here's a great recap from Friday night.

And if you missed Saturday, you missed one of the greatest stage entrances ever:

Here's the best news: the boys aren't done rocking the home crowd yet! On Saturday, Nov. 21, Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers will open for fellow Arizonian Dierks Bentley as part of his "Miles & Music For Kids" benefit series. Proceeds from the show will benefit Phoenix Children's, a Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster. VIP tickets are also available. http://tinyurl.com/yh27y9f

More info on the show can also be found here:http://tinyurl.com/yg9tkoh

But before then, RCPM will be back on the road, beginning this Wednesday in Albuquerque and taking the band this time through the Rocky Mountains, the Northwest and Southern California. Openers this slots this time around will be filled by the likes of The Railbenders and Angie Stevens.

It's been an incredible year so far for RCPM, and they're not done yet! The band is on fire right now. The energy at the shows is high, cups are being raised to celebrate life and say ¡Salud! Don't miss your chance to see RCPM live!

Let's Tell the UK About RCPM

Roger, PH, Jim, Nick and Jason are busy making preparations for their first ever journey across the Atlantic for a two-week tour of the UK. We know there are several of you planning on joining the band on their adventure and we're all looking forward to seeing many familiar faces in some unfamiliar settings.

But the band is also looking forward to sharing the Peacemaker experience with an entirely new set of fans, many of whom have never seen and might not be as familiar with RCPM as their Yankee counterparts. To get people in the UK ready for some kick ass Americana rock-n-roll, we'd like to expose more people over there to Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers. To do that, we need the RCPM vets to give our new UK friends an idea of what they're about to see.

The band would be most grateful if everyone would take a few minutes and request RCPM on UK radio. Whether you live in London or Phoenix, we'd like everyone to log in to as many websites as you can and make a request. And if you have time, find a message board to talk about why you love RCPM so much, what UK fans can expect when they go to a show, or even why learning key words such as ¡Salúd! may be important.

Our friend Kat has compiled a list of stations and websites that you can check out and make requests. A big gracias to her for taking the time to compile this list.
