Bus trip to Circus Mexicus XX

As we get ready to go down together to celebrate life through rock-n-roll next to the Sea of Cortez for Circus Mexicus XX, we want to let you know about a deal our friends at Peñasco Recreation are offering.

How would you like to let someone else do the driving down to Rocky Point and then avoid the lines getting back across the border on Sunday?

Peñasco Recreation is offering fans a seat on a bus that will pick you up from Four Peaks in Tempe on Friday morning and return Sunday night. That means you will get to attend PH's Hot Dog & A Smile at JJ's featuring The Hickman-Dalton Gang, the main concert by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers on Saturday night, attend the Mañanathon at JJ's on Sunday and then hop in the commercial bus lane at the border.

The bus will leave Four Peaks at 10 am on Friday, June 10. It will arrive at the Sonoran Sea and Spa at about 2:30 p.m. The bus will then be available to take people to JJ's at 5:30 p.m. and return to the resorts at 11 p.m. (you can always take a 10 minute cab ride if you want to leave earlier or stay longer).
On Sunday, June 12, the bus will head back to JJ's at 11 a.m. and then leave straight from the Mañanathon back to the U.S. at 2 p.m., arriving back at Four Peaks approximately 7 p.m.

The cost for this trip is $135 per person. If you buy four or more tickets, the price drops to $125 per ticket.

Peñasco Recreation can also help book your room at the time of your bus ticket purchase if you are still in need of lodging.

Same rules apply as if you were driving down in your own vehicle...you still need a passport or passport card.

Reservations can be made either by emailing mexicoruss@gmail.com or by calling Russ at 928-203-6180. You can also try his Mexico number at 638-113-4591. Or if you get down to Mexico and have questions, feel free to call. He's happy to help out with any inquiry you have.

He can also answer questions about luggage, which should be kept to two bags and a carry on. A cooler does count as a carry on and needs to be able to fit in your personal space on the bus.

We would also like to know if there is any interest in organizing a second bus from Tucson! If you think you'd be interested in taking a charter bus from Tucson to Rocky Point, please post on our Facebook page.

Travel like a rock star on a tour bus to Rocky Point for Circus Mexicus XX.

  1. Thank you for sharing this event. It seems like a really good time. I like how you are taking a charter bus, because it will be much more comfortable. My friends and I are looking into charter bus rentals for a trip to Atlantic City. We want to ride in style and have a great time.
