RCPM and The School of Rock!!

Paul Green School of Rock Music Students to Attend Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers “Soundcheck Experience” at the Gothic November 22

(November 5, 2008) Englewood, CO - The internationally renowned Paul Green School of Rock Music and international touring and independent Arizona-based recording artists Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers are partnering up for rock music education “Soundcheck Experience” opportunity for young Denver musicians. Songwriter Roger Clyne was of The Refreshments whose 1996 release “Banditos” became a national hit. The Refreshments also wrote and recorded the “King of Hill” TV theme song, which Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers now perform.
Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers have invited students from the School of Rock to attend a rock music workshop at their soundcheck for their upcoming November 22 show at the Gothic Theatre. Students will be attending the band’s soundcheck as music-industry insiders, and will be offered the opportunity to visit with the band and have a personal Q&A with the band.
Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers make a stop on their national tour in Denver on November 22 at The Gothic Theater and are initiating a new music-education program as a part of their touring. As seasoned pros, and educated musicians, these veteran performers bring a wealth of experience that they can share with up-and-coming musicians, as well as a passion for educating the next generation of rockers about everything from life on the road, to the creative process, the decision to record as an indie band, how soundchecks work, etc.
Students enrolled in the year-round School of Rock program in Denver take lessons and rehearse weekly in preparation for seasonal shows, while learning all about the rock-music business, from playing their instruments to promoting concerts. The school currently has students enrolled from all over the Denver metro region. Students have played concerts focusing on the music of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Old School Punk and New Wave, and are currently rehearsing the music of Black Sabbath and The Who.
The School Of Rock offers beginner programs, summer camps, workshops and clinics as well as ongoing regular music instruction.
Guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals are the primary instruments taught at the school, though other instruments are welcome where appropriate. The online brochure and registration information for the School of Rock programs, including the Summer Boot Camp is available at http://www.schoolofrock.com/
About The World Famous School of Rock ...

The Paul Green School of Rock is the original and premier performance-based rock music school in the country for kids 7-18. Founded on Green’s original program of weekly, individualized instruction sessions augmented by rigorous group rehearsals, the Paul Green School of Rock effectively motivates students to practice—driven by frequent performances where they discover that how hard they work leads directly to applause, the most beautiful music of all. Each year, the 30+ School of Rock branches around the country give more than 1,000 concerts at established venues including The Whiskey, BB King’s and Carnegie Hall and at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, the Zappanale in Germany and the first ever SORFest (‘07). The School’s All-Stars have performed with Alice Cooper, Eddie Vedder, Ann Wilson (Heart), Skunk Baxter (Steely Dan), Adrian Belew (Talking Heads/King Crimson), Sting, Billy Idol, Marky Ramone, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) and Perry Farrell, among others, and have toured with Jon Anderson of YES as his featured back-up band. The organization has already generated an A & E Films documentary, "Rock School," a summer music festival (SORFest), was the apparent inspiration for the Jack Black film “School of Rock”, and has garnered plenty of attention with its rapid growth throughout the country.
